Balbirnie House is a luxury country house hotel which sits as the centrepiece of 400 acres of beautiful Balbirnie Park in the geographic heart of Fife. Our category A listed Georgian 1777 mansion is near the village of Markinch, half an hour’s drive between Edinburgh, St Andrews, Perth and Dundee.
We combine great food, beautiful surroundings and our best Scottish hospitality to create a wonderful experience for our guests, whatever the occasion of your visit. As at 2022, and incredibly so, Balbirnie House is the 14 time annual recipient of the Scottish Hotels of the year awards scheme accolade, ‘Scotland’s Wedding Hotel of the Year’. Having been invited to represent Scotland on the world hospitality stage, Balbirnie House now has six best-in-world hospitality awards via Haute Grandeur global awards. These include the incredible and unique hat-trick for Scotland, ‘Best Wedding Hotel’, global category in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
