Come along to Kinloss on 24th May and watch showing classes for horses, cattle and sheep then see the horses in action – in ridden, driven and jumping classes.
The Fife Show has again been invited to hold qualifiers for the Barber Family British Ridden Heavy Horse of the Year Championship and the Gogar Services Driven Heavy Horse of the Year Championship. With only four of each of these qualifiers taking place in Scotland annually, we are delighted to be holding these prestigious classes for the Horse of the Year Show finals in October.
Royal Highland Show qualifiers will again be held in the Showjumping Ring, with these classes held over both Saturday and on the Sunday (which is Showjumping only!).
The Dog & Pet Shows, and the Scurry, can be entered on Show Day so why not bring along your two or four-legged friend and take part.
Entertainment takes the form of The Sheep Show and the 3SIXTY Bike Team Show – come and cheer them all on! Learn about different sheep breeds and watch them dance to their own signature tunes!
The Game Fair Area hosts gundog and birds of prey demonstrations, ferret racing and the gundog scurry. Cupar & District Pipe Band will entertain you in the Main Ring and around the Showground. Visit the Demonstration area, seeing how horseshoes are made and expertly fitted by the farriers or how to shear a sheep! Later in the day watch the finals of the Young Farmers Tug O’ War.
Marquees in the Second Field hold plenty for you to see, including classes for Eggs and Home Produce. Close by is the Food & Cookery Theatre, organised by Food from Fife, with demonstrations on throughout the day. The same large tent houses Craft and Food & Drink sections, with a wide range of gifts and local produce on offer. Shop until you drop with over 150 trade stands selling everything from tractors to toys, cars to clothes and jam to jewellery, then take a seat in our covered Picnic Area to enjoy the wide variety of fresh food on offer.
The Show is very much a family event with plenty for kids to do and see. The Kids Countryside tent has stands hosted by local groups, all with activities for families to take part in at the Show, as well as storytelling sessions throughout the day and Animal Man has beasties such as lizards and snakes. Nearby you will find Rare Breed animals and alpacas. Youngsters can become Fife Show Explorers, following the Showground Trail, finding out about food, farming & agriculture and answering a quiz along the way. The scarecrow competition for Primary Schools and Home Produce section (with classes for Under 9yrs and Under 15yrs as well as adults) are also great ways for local children to become involved.
Fife Show is a great day out for all the family but is still, first and foremost, a traditional agricultural Show with RHASS Long Service Medals for workers in the agricultural & rural sector with over 30yrs employment presented in the Main Ring.
Full details of what’s on and when can be found on our website link above. Buy your tickets in advance (£15) and save 25% on the Show Day cost - just head to fifeshow.com/book-your-tickets and click on the Buy Tickets Now button. Admission for those aged Under 16yrs is free when with an adult. Free Parking. Tickets available at the Gate on Show Day - £20.
The Association is delighted to have many local groups and organisations involved with this year’s Show again. Without their help and the support of our many sponsors, especially Headline Sponsor Persimmon Homes and Diamond & Ruby Sponsors ABP Perth; Diageo; DP & L Travel; Kettle Produce Ltd; NFU Mutual Cupar; Fife Properties Estate & Letting Agents; Galbraith; Rollos and The Scottish Deer Centre, the Show could not go on!
Location: Kinloss, Nr Cupar, Fife KY15 4PE
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
