Backhouse Rossie Estate in Fife, hosts Scotland’s Daffodil Festival annually in our RHS Partner Garden, home to The National & Scientific Collection of Narcissus Backhouse cvs.

See thousands of historic, modern and scented daffodils, and other spring flowering plants. Artisan Stalls, Great Vintage, Food, Plants, & fun Vintage Fete Stalls, Spring Wedding table set ups for inspiration, Café serving food, snacks and drinks. Bear Walk for little ones, children’s Woodland Walk Quiz. Flower Stands of award winning daffodils (made available to buy as bulbs & shipped in autumn) from multi Gold Medal, ‘Master Grower’, R&A Scamp, Quality Daffodils.

LAWN & GROUNDS:
Enjoy a walk-through time in Fife’s fresh clean air, see some of the first daffodil cultivars ever created in the UK from the Wordsworth style daffodils by our Backhouse family forbears.
Eary tulips, auriculas and spring flowering plants offer joyful spring colour. Wild Walk to Tomb Wood with path fringed by daffodils, the covenanter James Scott rests peacefully here. Enjoy the path signed Mary Queen of Scots footprints, short Bear Walk for little toots, a nine hole putting green with views to the Lomond Hills and a Grass Labyrinth awaits…

Enjoy the onsite Café with festival food, snacks and hot and cold drinks.

THE BARN & STALLS 2024:
Indulge yourself shopping at local stalls with great products by talented artisans and fabulous vintage stalls.
Including; Chelsea Gold Medal winning Binny Plants, delicious Val’s Scottish Tablet and talented Rough Paw Art, Paul Fieldsend’s gorgeous artist’s prints, Cups’N’Cakes by Monica, Laura’s must have naturally scented Wee Bee Melts, your favourite fruit wine, bubbly, and cider producers lovely Cairn o’ Mohr Fruit Wines, Evelyn’s fabulous ‘Hamish and Baby Monkey’ Vintage includes; clothes, home and garden items, Suzanne’s gorgeous Vintage; includes, rustic items, clothes and homeware, Backhouse Rossie Vintage offers Jewellery, little things and books.

Festival Cafe with food, apple juice and condiments, made from traditionally grown fruit and vegetables from the walled garden. For engaged couples and their families a visit to the spring wedding set up area may be helpful.

All proceeds from the Vintage Fete Stalls go annually to charity. We are also delighted to welcome back the Woodland Trust who do great work across the whole of Scotland.

Children under 5 are free.
Please that dogs are not permitted at the festival.
