In July 2023, adventure sports journalist and author Mark Agnew set out with a small team aiming to be the first to kayak the entire 2,000-mile Northwest Passage, from Baffin Bay to Beaufort Sea, a journey only made possible as the ice is retreating for longer each year. The team kayaked for 12 hours a day, camping on the shore each night and hunkering down in their tents to sit out storms. During the journey, Mark focused on the intrinsic value of the adventure, and his belief that we would all be happier in life if we focused on the experience and not the destination.
