Get into the Christmas spirit at the Crail Community Hall Christmas Fayre weekend. Two days full of fun for the whole family will conclude with our seasonal concert.
We continue in our tradition featuring two groups from St Andrews University, who's outstanding quality and ability will make, yet again, for an amazing concert night.
On Sunday evening the large hall will be resounding with joyful and happy music from a wide variety of genres including some seasonal tunes. This will be a concert of two halves. In the first part we will be treated to some festive music with a twist by JazzWorks, while the second half will feature the A Cappella Champions 2017 - The Alleycats.
The fourteen vocalists in this high-energy act provide award-winning contemporary a cappella, combining a full range of male and female voices amid a velvety blend. The Alleycats were set up by a group of friends in 2001 who shared their love of singing over a pint in the pub, and much to their delight, discovered the enjoyment that their music could evoke. Originally an all-male group, in 2007 The Alleycats opened their doors to female members and began working their way towards the rich sound they have today.
The Alleycats will delight with their award-winning arrangements and silky tones!
We will start the concert with Jazz Works, a group of talented Jazz musicians supported by stunning vocals, performing easy listinging Jazz with a seasonal twist.
JazzWorks’ society mission is to create a strong community amongst jazz musicians in St Andrews and promote jazz across campus. They organise jam sessions around town on a regular basis and offer tools for beginners to gain more experience playing the genre. They are delighted to have a band of their more experienced players performing a festive concert at Crail Community Hall to spread Christmas cheer and give you a taste of the jazz scene in St Andrews.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
