Made in Dagenham

About Made in Dagenham

Kirkcaldy Amateur Operatic Society (KAOS) are delighted to be back at the Adam Smith Theatre to present the musical Made in Dagenham.

Inspired by a true story and based on the 2010 film, Made in Dagenham is a musical comedy about friendship, love and the importance of fighting for what is right. It was a smash hit when it opened in London in 2014 and is a splendid feel-good show.

The musical is set in Essex 1968 at the Ford Dagenham plant where the women who work in the stitching room strike for equal pay. Rita O’Grady is like millions of other women who every working day is just trying to get her husband out of bed and her children off to school so she can get to the factory on time. Rita and the other women in the factory battle the might of Ford to get recognised as skilled workers and achieve equal pay……but do they win? Come along and see!

Funny, touching and timeless, Made in Dagenham shows how ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they stand together.

Contains occasional strong language.
