Award-winning author Merryn’s plays and short stories have been broadcast on BBC radio, and she was the first Cairngorms National Park Writer-in-Residence. Coming from a radically different starting point and historical period than the Aberdeenshire author Nan Shepherd, she enters into a conversation across time and discovers the spark that sets herself and the hills on fire. Richly illustrated with old and new photographs of the Cairngorms, and threaded with readings from her work and Shepherd’s, Merryn’s talk is a celebration of Scotland’s high and rocky heart and the people who explore it.
