Pittenween Fisherman's Memorial Association was formed with the objective of raising funds to commission, erect and maintain a permanent memorial, dedicated to the men and women who made their living from the sea and to those who lost their lives in so doing. This is the story of the iconic memorial which was borne out of the history and tragedy of Fife's fishing industry. The speaker is Ronnie Hughes - the driving force behind the memorial and a fisherman for well over 40 years.
Along with the evocative talk, tea, coffee and themed home baking will be available. Our famous raffle with prizes stretching from the sublime to the ridiculous will be featured. Books published by the Association on tales from the East Neuk will also be available at a discounted price.
