Kingsbarns, St Andrews - The theme of this year’s Mental Health Week (13-19th May) is ‘Movement’. So what better opportunity to reconnect with your body and mind but in the beautiful lush grounds of Cambo Country House and Estate, an esteemed venue and visitor attraction situated on Fife’s stunning coastline, for an outdoor Wellbeing Experience.
The ultimate place to retreat to, unwind, rejuvenate and reconnect with nature. Visit Cambo for a Gentle Movement Workshop in the woods with WildStrong, who teach movement skills that help make you stronger for what life throws at you, for an evening session on Wednesday 15th May at 6pm. This will be followed by a ‘birdsong walk’ Woodland Walk to the beach, a ‘dook’ in the waters off Kingsbarns beach, followed by a session in the Wild Scottish Sauna before returning to Cambo House for a hot chocolate around the fire pit. Nature, movement & laughter in the springtime, what more could you ask for?
Alternatively visit Cambo for a morning session on Saturday 18th May at 8am. Start your ‘experience’ with a Gentle Movement Workshop in the woods with WildStrong, followed by a ‘birdsong walk’ to the beach, a swimrise and session in the Wild Scottish Sauna. After all this early morning activity, relax and enjoy a cup of tea and full day access to the walled gardens at Cambo. Either date has spaces available at £60 per person, 20% of all profits will go to SAMH Scotland and Group discounts are available.
Should you wish to stay and enjoy more time on the estate, visit Cambo’s award-winning café where you can browse the gift shop. Tours of Cambo House and Gardens can also be arranged or roam free and explore the magical woodland walks to Kingsbarns beach. The estate is also home to the Kingsbarns Distillery, offering whisky and gin tours with tastings, plus Kingsbarns Golf Links, a Worldwide Top 100 ranked course, which is open until early November. Finish the day with an evening enjoying listening to evening bird song and owls, and overnight stay in Cambo House, or one of Cambo’s off-grid cabins.
From magical woodlands and beautiful gardens to golden beaches and a spectacular coastline, Cambo Estate is an ever-evolving, vibrant ecosystem, woven together by people and estate partners, who share the core values of community, opportunity, heritage, sustainability and fun. The Estate is a community, and at the heart of the community sits Cambo House, home of the Erskine family since the late 1600s. Over 350 years later, it still remains a family home to this day for James Erskine and his family. The House offers ample space for retreats, workshops and yoga classes aswell as accommodating up to 37 guests in 18 Victorian style guest bedrooms, divided between five elegant suites and four spacious guest wings.
Cambo also offers two ‘off grid cabins’, designed and built by Scottish sustainable travel pioneers, Off Grid Travel. The experience is about unplugging, having fun and reconnecting with those around you. Head off into the wild, or just kick back and relax. There are two different accommodation types, ideal for couples, solo travellers, or families.
Cambo Estate is conveniently located between Kingsbarns and Crail on the A917 south of St Andrews.
