Rusacks St Andrews, the iconic hotel overlooking the Old Course, proudly introduces Room 116, an exclusive whisky lounge created in partnership with award-winning distillers Brown-Forman Beverages Ltd. Celebrating the rich heritage of Scottish golf and whisky, Room 116 offers an unparalleled experience featuring rare Glendronach collections. Glendronach, renowned for its Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, has been crafting the finest sherried single malts for nearly 200 years, establishing its legacy as one of Scotland's oldest licensed distilleries.
Room 116 opens amid booming whisky tourism in Scotland, home to 151 distilleries*, as of May 2024. The rising demand for craft and premium whiskies drives the market's growth, with the Scotch Whisky industry providing £7.1bn in gross value added to the UK economy*.
“The Glendronach is one of Scotland’s oldest licenced distilleries and one of the world’s most exceptional, richly-sherried Single Malts, so this is a hugely fitting collaboration, combining our legacy with Rusacks St Andrews which is steeped in golfing history and prominence. The new offering will be an opportunity for guests to discover The Glendronach in an outstanding setting, combining celebrated whisky, a world renowned golf course and the best of Scotland’s hospitality.” - Emily Richardson (Marketing Director, Brown-Forman Beverages Europe Ltd.)
With bespoke packages and personalised tastings, Room 116 provides a highly curated experience for all the senses. Officially trademarked 'The Best View in Golf,' the lounge overlooks the 18th green of the legendary Old Course and the Fife coast, offering a stunning backdrop for whisky enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
Formerly a guest suite and transformed into a members' club-inspired space by AJ Capital Partners, Room 116 at Rusacks St Andrews boasts vintage furnishings, a bespoke bar, and custom shelving showcasing a unique whisky collection, including archive casks no longer available for purchase. This addition further elevates the hotel's esteemed food and beverage program, led by renowned Scottish chef Billy Boyter, who oversees venues such as 18, The Bridge, and One Under Bar.
“Rusacks St Andrews is excited to be the UK flagship for The Glendronach, a partnership celebrating the rich heritage of both brands,” says Phillip Allen, President of Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts. “We've also created a signature cocktail, the 'Marine & Lawn Manhattan', exclusively available at all Marine & Lawn properties for a limited time, debuting at the AIG Women's Open Championship in August.”
Room 116 offers curated whisky experiences:
● 'Home of Golf' (2 hours): Storytelling, tasting of 4 Glendronach single malts, mezze board, golf amenities. 5-20 guests, £195pp.
