Kirkcaldy Funfair Model Show 2019

About Kirkcaldy Funfair Model Show 2019

Experience all the fun of the fair in miniature, when many of the UK’s most talented model makers exhibit their work at the Fairground Association of Great Britain’s annual Kirkcaldy Model Show.

Held in Kirkcaldy’s Linktown Church, a short walk from the town esplanade – where, for six days, some of the biggest and best rides from across the UK will be found – the Show also includes displays, memorabilia and memories of fairgrounds past and present.

Five trophies are presented during the day: Best in Show; Best Transport; Best Layout; Best New or Improved Model; and the Archie Grieve Memorial Trophy, named in honour of the Show’s founder.

These days the show welcomes model exhibits beyond the fairground models with some of our exhibitors displaying circus models and Graham Johnston will be presenting his model tram layout.

New this year we have something for the younger visitors as 2 giant Lego fairs will look to entertain and we have one of the largest Knex models on the model show run coming to visit. For those who like detailed transport models John Hutton is hoping to showcase some of his latest work and Graeme Mquackers ever evolving display has new models to admire as well. Also this year we welcome the Fairground Society who will be hosting their AGM at 2pm all members welcome.

Trade stands present on the day include The FAGB and FS stands who will have memberships and merchendise for sale as well as the societies book stand. AJS professional video productions will be present with his selection of fair and transport DVDs and there will be various second hand models for sale.

Now in its 17th year, the Show is still free to visit, although we encourage contributions to help with the unavoidable running costs – there will be a donation bucket at the door!

As in previous years a selection of hot and cold snacks and drinks will be available from Rosie’s Diner throughout the day.
