A unique mix of song inspired by William Shakespeare and Robert Burns.
Performed with looping and improvisation by Jessa Liversidge.
"Beautiful...poetic...soulful....haunting"
"Outstanding storytelling - lost in music"
"Stunning voice - clever and cool looping effects"
"Haunting and beautiful - the queen of the loop"
"The songs and stories come alive when you sing"
A musical journey, inspired by the two bards - William Shakespeare and Robert Burns.
Sit back and enjoy Jessa's heartfelt performance, from folk (Ae fond kiss, Ye banks and braes) to pop (Sting, Taylor Swift), musical theatre (West Side Story, The Frogs) to original music, improvisation, and use of a loop pedal to layer melodies live.
Jessa is a singer and singing leader based near York, although born in Dundee. She has taken her one-woman shows to venues from quirky cafes to Castle Howard, equally at home performing in large theatres and intimate venues. She is known for her versatile and heartfelt vocals and, more recently, her outdoor #fieldsing and her skill with a loop pedal - both activities that came out of a particularly creative lockdown period. 2023 saw the launch of Jessa's latest show, the unique 'Two bards and a Songbird', described as a 'delightful musical exploration of Shakespeare and Burns' where Jessa can be singing a haunting Burns ballad one minute and looping around with a classic Taylor Swift pop tune the next, as well as improvising her own music around Shakespeare sonnets and Burns quotations
Venue: Leslie Town Hall, 21, High Street, Leslie, Fife, KY6 3DA
